How SMEs Can Identify High-Value AI Opportunities

The best AI opportunity is not always the biggest or most technically impressive.

Discuss your business challenge →

Begin with a real business constraint

Select a persistent bottleneck or cost driver and establish its financial and service impact. A use case without a measurable problem is merely a technology experiment.

Remove unnecessary work

Map the current workflow. Identify duplicate data entry, avoidable hand-offs, error loops and approvals before considering any AI expenditure.

Assess task and data suitability

Ask whether inputs are sufficiently reliable, outputs can be validated, sensitive information is protected and human oversight is practical.

Prioritise by net value and risk

Compare expected benefit with implementation, licensing, integration, review and operating cost. Pilot one narrow task and evaluate the actual change in performance.

What not to automate

Avoid poorly defined decisions, legally or commercially sensitive work without adequate controls, and workflows whose fundamental demand should be removed.
